Introduction to SoulCollage®
December class TBATalisman New Age Shop, Monroe, CT
This 2 hour workshop will introduce you to all aspects of card making, the suits that make up the deck, card reading exercises, and more. All materials and lunch provided.
The uplifting experience of creating aside, our cards work as tools to help us better know ourselves. Cards can be utilized in individual and group readings, as meditation focal points, journaling prompts, aspart of intention-setting rituals, or as a daily message to yourself, just to name a few possibilites
SoulCollage® is an artful, expressive, and intuitive journey to the realm in each of us where our soul dwells. With the aid of tools such as meditation, shamanic journeying, card readings and the act of creating and sharing with others, we illuminate, piece by piece, the beautiful fragments of our true, whole selves.
Space is limited to 10 people per class, but this class is offered several times a year, so opportunities abound!

For cardmakers who are familiar with the process, this group meeting is a chance to socialize, create and self-nuture, all in a relaxed and caring atmosphere. All materials and light refreshments provided, but you are welcome to bring magazines or snacks to share. A great excuse for an extended lunch break!

Each of us is a multi-faceted gem, with myriad sides to our selves. We are sometimes aware of this when we feel conflicted– when different parts of the psyche disagree, or when we see a "new side of ourselves" we had not acknowledged before . The Committee includes such figures as the Shy Child, Critic, Caregiver, Artist, Writer, Victim, Adventurer, Hostess, Singer, Nurse, Daughter, and countless more. Each of these aspects of our selves has, in turn, positive and negative aspects. Each has an important role to play in our lives. SoulCollage®, like journal-keeping, dreamwork and other personal development techniques, gives unique visual form to this gallery of commitee members.By manifesting them in our cards, we expand our awareness of who we are, and where we may still grow, change, and acheive.
SoulCollage® Spotlight Suit: Community
2 hour session
In this workshop we will be looking more closely at the role of the Community Suit in our SoulCollage® decks. Ancestors, mentors, family, friends and even pets become profound parts of our lives, and honoring them in a card can be a joyous experience. Even those people who challenge us, when imaged in a card, can bring unseen lessons to light for us. All supplies and refreshments provided; participants are encouraged to bring their own photographs of people they wish to honor to use in this class. $20

2 hour session
Neters, or archetypes, make up the cards in our Council Suit. What are these archetypes, and what meaning can they bring to our decks, and our readings? Archetypes are mythological patterns that offer a form of structure to the human experience. Embedded in our Collective Unconscious, they pervade multi-cultural founding legends, folk tales and contemporary narratives. Their motifs appear in our personal dreams and collective fantasies. This gathering of archetypes includes the Sage, Crone Great Mother, Hero, Warrior, Muse, Divine Child, Priest or Priestess, The Trickster or Fool, and Death. The archetypes are not beings, but templates.How do we determine the difference between a Committee card and a Council card? Why are the Fool (or Trickster) card and the Death card consider to be essential to a SoulCollage deck? We explore these topics as we create cards for our decks. All supplies and refreshments provided. $20

SoulCollage® Spotlight Suit: Companion
2 hour session
Among indigenous people, ritual honoring of a totem animal by tribe members is thought to bring the characteristic life-enhancing properties of the sacred creature into the individual.
The Companion Suit allows us to create a visual form of those animal presences with whom we resonate. By focusing in meditation on each of the seven chakras, or energy centers, in our bodies we invite these personal totems to make themselves visible to our conscious mind. What wisdom, messages and guidance might our companions offer to us, both in the practical tasks of life and in the realm of our ever-unfolding potential? Guided meditation will be part of this workshop; comfortable clothing is recommended.
